The Trail
Desert Off Road Adventure tours follow an action-packed trail which includes which includes mountain terrain, sand dunes, steep washes, whoop sections and a portion of the historic Mint 400 off road race course.
The Mint 400 started in 1968 as a promotion for the Mint Hotel’s annual deer hunt and quickly become known as the toughest off-road race in America. Participants have included legendary racers such as Parnelli Jones, Al Unser, and Rick Mears and celebrities such as Steve McQueen and James Garner. The race represents the glamor and adventure of old world Las Vegas. The race ended in 1988 with the sale of the Mint Hotel but was revived in 2008 and has since become one of the premier off-road events in North America.
All Desert Off Road Adventure tour guides are also off-road racers who have competed in the MINT 400 and off-road events across North America. Guests receive driving instruction to prepare them for the course
